Marble Contractor in Manchester

• Bookmatched Calacatta islands are the most requested feature in Manchester kitchen renovations this year — two slabs cut and mirrored to create a symmetrical vein pattern across an island.
• Honed (matte) marble finishes are overtaking high-gloss polish in period properties across Didsbury and Chorlton, giving a softer, more traditional look that suits older homes.
• Marble-effect quartz as a practical alternative — for busy family kitchens where etching and staining are a real concern, more Manchester homeowners are asking us to pair a genuine marble island with a durable quartz worktop on the main run.
• Waterfall edges on marble islands continue to be one of the most-requested upgrades for new-build kitchens across Wythenshawe and Sale.

We keep our showroom samples updated with current colourways so you’re choosing from what’s actually available and on-trend, not last decade’s catalogue.

Direct-From-Fabricator Pricing

A lot of “marble contractors” in Manchester are actually resellers — they take your order, send it to a fabricator, and add their own margin on top before it even reaches the workshop. Artz Stone fabricates in-house, so when you get a quote from us, you’re paying for the marble, the cutting, and the fitting — not a middleman.

We give you a fixed, written quote before any work starts, based on your actual template, not a rough estimate that grows once the job is underway. If your budget is tighter, we’ll tell you honestly whether marble, granite, or a marble-effect quartz is the better fit for your space and how it’s used — we’d rather you choose the right material than the most expensive one.

Marble & Stone Range We Work With

While marble is our specialism, we fabricate and fit a full range of natural and engineered stone, so you get honest advice on what actually suits your kitchen, bathroom, or fireplace — not just what we have the most of in stock.

Marble worktops & surfaces — Natural stone with unique veining in every slab. We regularly source and fit Carrara marble, Calacatta marble, Nero Marquina, and Emperador for Manchester clients, in both polished and honed finishes. Marble suits lower-traffic surfaces beautifully — kitchen islands, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, and hearths — where its natural elegance is the priority.

Granite worktops — A harder, more heat- and scratch-resistant natural stone, often chosen for busy family kitchens where marble’s softness would be a practical concern.

Quartz worktops — Engineered stone in marble-effect colourways (Calacatta Royal and similar ranges), non-porous and stain-resistant — a popular choice when clients want the marble look on a hard-working main worktop run.

Porcelain worktops — Heat-, scratch-, and UV-stable, often used alongside marble islands in kitchens with large windows or hobs.

Common Marble Problems We Solve

If you’ve owned or considered marble before, you’ve probably already run into — or worried about — one of these. We hear them from Manchester homeowners every week:

“I love the look, but I’m worried about staining and etching.” Marble is a natural, porous stone, and acidic liquids like wine, lemon juice, or vinegar can etch the surface if left unsealed. We seal every marble installation properly on fitting, and we’ll talk you through realistic day-to-day care — so you know what to expect rather than being surprised six months in.

“My existing marble worktop or fireplace has cracked or chipped.” Common in older Manchester properties, particularly Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Chorlton, Withington, and Rusholme, where original marble fireplaces have shifted or chipped over the decades. We repair, re-polish, or template a replacement to match the room.

“I got a quote that ballooned once the work started.” This is the most common complaint we hear about other contractors. Our quotes are fixed after templating — not a starting estimate.

“I don’t want to wait months for an installation.” Most marble worktops are fabricated and fitted within 1–2 weeks of templating, depending on the slab’s availability, so your kitchen isn’t out of action for longer than it needs to be.

“My kitchen fitter has already installed the cabinets — can you still template around them?” Yes. We template after your cabinets are fitted, taking exact measurements around sinks, hobs, and sockets, so the marble fits first time.

Same-Day Quotes, Fast Turnaround

Whether you’re renovating a single kitchen or fitting out a full new-build development, we know Manchester homeowners don’t want to wait weeks for a straight answer. Send us your kitchen layout and we’ll usually get a quote back to you within 24 hours, with most installations completed within days of your final template, not months.
